Digital Nomad Visa in Spain

Being a Digital Nomad means being able to work remotely from anywhere in the world in the place where you feel most comfortable. The Digital Nomad Visa is aimed at third country nationals from outside the EU/EEA who wish to work remotely from Spain through exclusively electronic means for foreign companies.

Under the Spaniard legislation the tax status is totally independent of the migratory status, this means that the possession of a certain visa does not necessarily imply the acquisition of the condition of tax resident in Spain. 

In the case of digital nomads to obtain and maintain such permit requires a minimum stay in Spanish territory of 6 months which in turn means that the holder would stay more than 183 days in Spanish territory and therefore acquire the status of resident for tax purposes in Spain. 

However, digital nomads who have an employment relationship with a foreign company may request the application of the Special Regime for workers posted to Spanish territory or commonly known as the Beckham Law.

To third-country nationals from outside the EU/EEA who wish to work remotely using exclusively electronic means for foreign companies, i.e. companies located outside the Spaniard territory. There is also the possibility of applying for the visa in the case of self-employed workers (freelancers) under the fulfillment of certain requirements.

It includes everything you need to be a Digital Nomad. The payment of the service will be made in a single payment of 1.300€. It does not include fees, notary or possible translations that may be necessary for the process.

The Digital Nomad Visa allows its holders to enjoy the following benefits:

• Residing and working remotely from Spain for foreign companies.
• Request the application of the Special Regime for workers posted to Spanish territory (commonly known as the Beckham Law) as long as they have an employment relationship with the foreign company.
• The teleworker's family members may accompany the teleworker and obtain a residence and work permit in Spain

The estimated processing time for the Digital Nomad Visa is 20 working days.

• Have been working as an employee or self-employed person for at least 3 months in a foreign company with a real and continuous activity for at least 1 year. 
• Have permission from the company to telework from Spain. 
• A degree related to the performance of the post or, where appropriate, at least 3 years' experience in similar functions to the post to be performed.
